Terrence Alm did an outstanding job of installing two condensors on my roof to serve five mini-splits. He was able to fit them within parapets that had concealed two swamp coolers. On more than one occasion, he assured me that they would not be visible from the street,... Read More which was an HOA requirement. In addition to delivering more efficient air conditioning and heating, he also addressed my aesthetic concerns about the placement of refrigerant and electrical lines as well as condensate lines. I did not want to mar the look of my adobe-style home. The original proposal did call for over the wall refrigerant lines, although Terrence said some through the parapet routing would reduce the jarring appearance. Once the proposal was accepted and work started, Terrance was able to use a small camera to explore the parapet cavities. He was able to propose alterations to the original proposal that allowed for lines to be concealed within the parapet walls and mini-pumps that would handle the condensate. The final outcome was no outside lines visible from the study, guest room and master bedroom, two of which faced the street. Only the living room and kitchen at the back of the property required minimal outside lines that went over the parapets. He collaborated with me on the placement of the mini-splits and made them look like part of the original building as opposed to an awkward add-on. I could not be more pleased in how the install turned out. Terrence's bid was higher than the other three I requested, but I was confident that he would deliver the best product. It is not everyday that you are meeting the CEO, who will also be doing the install. The representatives of the other companies were only able to offer off-the-shelf standard installs that did not touch the idea of parapet penetrations. Terrence is a mountain goat on the ladder, an artist in his approach to mini-split positioning, a techie in getting the install correct. He is also a gentleman and respectful in cleaning up after his work. He is building a relationship to back his product. Mini-splits are a major investment. Terrence also helped me find and coordinate an electrician for some needed upgrades to my old electrical system (more of the electrician below). The three zone system was calculated perfectly for my home is performing as expected and promised. The costs were as proposed and with 5% of other bids; frankly given the end product I would say was best priced by far. The installation process was smooth, efficient and transparent. Terrance would call or text with status every day and was extremely courteous working around me and my dogs. Terrence was so accommodating with the dogs that he made a new buddy, Shiloh the coonhound, for life. He took time to explain the system to me, the daily plans, issues and involved me with decisions along the way. Brilliant stuff. The quality of their work is outstanding. The exterior and interior work is so clean. Terrence takes pride in putting in systems that are unobtrusive and the final work is frankly seamless with the house. I also note that they left my house as clean as before every day. There were two issues that arose during the installation and both were handled transparently and professionally. 1) A ceiling insert could not be installed in one room because of the way the home was framed (never know what you will find when you start to open things up). Terrence involved and discussed with me immediately and found a great solution that I could not be happier with. 2) The main unit ended up having a board failure that Terrence identified quickly (this was late in the afternoon when starting the entire system up). Because he is a Diamond contractor and has a great relationship with Mitsubishi local representatives, he was able to get a new module the next morning and had it installed before noon. It was truly an exceedingly pleasant experience. They were responsive to my inquiries, provided clear and transparent pricing, involved me with decisions and worked issues without complaint. Loya Electrical of Santa Fe installed a new exterior 200A load center and weatherhead system, placed new conduit and ground rods and pulled new wires under my house to my existing interior panel, plus the electrical disconnect/connection/power to the new mini split system. Octavio Loya and Terrence coordinated seamlessly and Octavio and his team did the work so efficiently when the county came to string and connected the new power feed my house I was only without power for less than an hour. The interior and exterior work is so good and clean that I can hardly tell if the work was done at all except for the new components. Electrical inspections went by without issue.
